Uzbek Textile Delegation Visits Mayer & Cie Plant

A 20 member strong textile delegation from Uzbekistan visit the plant of German circular knitting machines manufacturer Mayer & Cie located in Albstadt.

German-Uzbek Textile Partners (GUZ Partner) and Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association came to attend a business forum in Baden-Württemberg.

“The aim was to make new contacts in order to establish partnerships with Germany and Europe as until now, Uzbekistan has done most of its business with neighboring countries,” a Mayer & Cie press release said.

The delegation was given a tour of the plant, which included Sebastian Mayer, member of the Mayer & Cie management board and Sales Director Wolfgang Müller and Sales Area Manager Timo Schramm.

“During a tour of the assembly halls where the high-quality circular knitting machines are manufactured, the guests were impressed by the modern production machines,” the German company said.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has established itself as a permanent fixture among the most important international locations for the textile industry.

The figures cited by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) underlined that since 2020; annual gross fixed capital formation in the textile and clothing industry has exceeded the one billon US dollar mark.

The industry association’s planned investments for the textile industry at the beginning of 2023 alone add up to a good $500 million and in addition, new projects are on the drawing board.

The Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association includes more than 1,500 jersey and garment manufacturers and about 450 textile companies, which account for the bulk of the industry’s output.
