Walmart And Google Partner To Bring Walmart Shopping Into Google’s Gemini AI

Walmart Inc. and Google announced a partnership to integrate Walmart and Sam’s Club shopping directly into Google’s Gemini AI, creating a seamless, personalized and AI-powered shopping experience. The integration uses the Universal Commerce Protocol to deliver Walmart’s full assortment, value and convenience within Gemini.
Customers will be able to discover and purchase products through natural conversations with Gemini, with recommendations tailored to past purchases and Walmart+ or Sam’s Club membership benefits. The platform will also enable fast delivery, with hundreds of thousands of locally curated items available in under three hours, and some in as little as 30 minutes.
John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart U.S., said, “The shift to agent-led commerce is the next evolution in retail. Partnering with Google to bring the Walmart experience directly into Gemini helps customers get what they need, when and where they want, in a more intuitive and personal way.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, added, “AI can improve every step of the consumer journey. Customers will soon be able to experience everything they love about Walmart directly in the Gemini app.”
The new experience will launch first in the U.S. and will be available internationally in due course.
