Elgi Electric & Industries Ltd participated at the ITM 2024 exhibition, unveiling three new offerings to meet the demands of the spinning industry. V S Balasubramanian, the Vice President – Operations, provided insights into the company’s offerings and the response received at the event.

Balasubramanian outlined the current offerings, including overhead cleaners, bobbin transportation systems and yarn conditioning, which are already available in the market. Additionally, the company is set to launch three new products – cone packing, cone transportation and lap transportation – by the end of the year, catering to the needs of spinning units both in India and abroad.

Speaking about the feedback received at the exhibition, Balasubramanian highlighted the positive response, particularly on the second and third day. “The third day was really good, we had a good number of potential customers,” he stated. With a strong customer base in Turkey, the company witnessed both existing clients and new enquiries at their stall, indicating a promising show overall.

Visitors from various countries, including Turkey, Iran and Uzbekistan, attended the event, demonstrating the international appeal of Elgi Electric & Industries Ltd’s products.

Regarding the trends in the Turkish market, Balasubramanian acknowledged the challenges faced in recent years but expressed optimism for the future. “Currently, Turkey is undergoing a lot of economic issues,” he noted, citing inflation rates and high interest rates affecting investments. However, he remained hopeful that the situation would improve in the coming months, leading to increased investment. Balasubramanian emphasized Turkey’s potential as a textile market, situated close to Europe, and affirmed the company’s commitment to operating in the region for the long term.
