States Invited To Apply Under Rs 33,660 Cr BHAVYA Scheme

The Centre has invited states to submit applications under the newly launched BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna) scheme, a major industrial infrastructure initiative with an outlay of Rs 33,660 crore aimed at developing 100 world-class industrial parks across the country.
Announcing the rollout, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said several states have already expressed interest in participating in the scheme and submitted their Expressions of Interest (EoIs).
The scheme will function in a challenge-based mode, under which states offering the most attractive proposals, efficient implementation plans and business-friendly industrial ecosystems will be given priority.
As part of the implementation roadmap, applications for the first 20 industrial parks will be invited over the next two months. This will be followed by applications for 30 additional parks in the subsequent two months, while proposals for the remaining 50 parks are expected to be finalised within four months.
The minister urged state governments to actively participate in the initiative, emphasising that BHAVYA is designed to create globally competitive industrial infrastructure and strengthen India’s manufacturing base.
The scheme seeks to promote the development of plug-and-play industrial parks equipped with modern facilities to improve ease of doing business, attract large-scale investments and accelerate manufacturing-led economic growth.
According to Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the scheme is sector-agnostic and will be implemented in collaboration with state governments and private sector stakeholders.
He added that the scheme will support the creation of core industrial infrastructure, value-added facilities and social infrastructure such as worker housing, with up to 50 industrial parks proposed under Phase I.
The BHAVYA scheme is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s industrial ecosystem and reinforcing its ambition to emerge as a leading global manufacturing hub.
