Asteks 401-SF Series Gains Traction In Türkiye’s Leading Textile Mills

Asteks’ innovative 401-SF series cots grinding machines, equipped with high efficiency and advanced automation features, are gaining popularity in spinning mills worldwide. Recently, two of Türkiye’s leading textile companies, Kaynak İplik and Grand İplik, chose the 401-SF for their cots grinding processes, further cementing Asteks’ market leadership.

Asteks, a prominent manufacturer of cots grinding and automation solutions, continues to strengthen its position in both Türkiye and the global market with technologies developed through intensive R&D. The latest generation 401 Series cots grinding machines offer significant advantages to yarn manufacturers, combining high automation with superior efficiency. The 401-SF and 401-SF&M models have captured the attention of yarn producers across Türkiye and key global textile markets since their launch. At the ITM 2024 textile machinery exhibition held in June, Kaynak İplik and Grand İplik, two of Türkiye’s top textile manufacturers, enhanced their cots grinding operations with the addition of new 401 models, expressing their confidence in Asteks during a ceremony at the event.

Sabri İlknur, Asteks’ Marketing and Sales Manager, highlighted the strong ties and comprehensive cooperation between Asteks, Kaynak İplik, and Grand İplik in developing new solutions. He emphasized that the 401-SF series, a product of Turkish engineering, offers numerous advantages to users through its advanced functional features. İlknur stated:

“The 401-SF series was developed by our R&D team, tailored to the demands and expectations of yarn manufacturers in cots grinding. This future-oriented solution is equipped with automation and digital processes that prevent potential process errors, quality losses, and operating cost issues. The grinding process can begin simply by loading the cots into the feeding chamber, without the need for manual arrangement. With its smart feeding system, laser diameter measurement, and automatic grinding, the 401-SF has become a preferred choice among yarn manufacturers. We thank Kaynak İplik and Grand İplik for their trust in Asteks.”

Kaynak İplik Boosts Capacity with Asteks 401-SF
Kaynak İplik, part of the Kaynak Group in Denizli, produces high-quality yarns from cotton fiber for both domestic and international markets. The facility, spanning 290,000 m² (with 90,000 m² covered), also supplies towel, bathrobe, fabric, and apparel factories within the group. As Kaynak İplik neared the completion of its 9000-kW SPP investment, it invested in Asteks’ 401-SF to enhance its cots grinding capacity in line with its increased spinning operations.

Mehmet Hüsamettin İnal, Factory Manager at Kaynak İplik, explained their decision to invest in the 401-SF due to its advanced automation and high capacity. He remarked:

“We initiated additional investments to boost production and quality at the start of 2024. We sought a more efficient and precise cots grinding machine for our Kaynak 1, Kaynak 2, and Kaynak 3 factories, which produce high-quality compact and open-end yarns. Asteks’ 401-SF machine met our needs perfectly, offering all the essential features we were looking for, helping us achieve advantages in both the operational and investment processes.”

İnal added that Kaynak İplik, with its 88,032 spindles across four spinning factories, produces 36 tons of yarn daily, highlighting the importance of a reliable, continuously operating cots grinding machine. The long-standing partnership with Asteks has been strengthened further with the purchase of the new generation machine. He also praised Asteks’ technical support, fast service, and spare parts availability, noting the importance of choosing the right partner for long-term investments.

Grand İplik Finds a Profitable Solution in 401-SF&M
Grand İplik, an initiative of Grand Halı, was established in Gaziantep in 1998 and produces machine-made carpets at its integrated facility, which spans approximately 78,000 m². In 2024, Grand İplik began operations at a new facility in the Şanlıurfa Eyyübiye Organized Industrial Zone, producing compact combed cotton yarn, 95% of which is exported to over 60 countries.

Grand İplik Factory Manager Devlet Kayar emphasized their focus on efficiency and quality in their spinning investment, based on their extensive industry experience. He noted:

“Cots grinding is crucial for quality and efficiency in yarn production. Regular, high-quality grinding directly impacts spinning efficiency and operating costs. This is why we chose Asteks’ 401-SF&M grinding machine. The compact design, featuring two independently driven grinding units, allows us to process short cots for ring spinning and roving frames, as well as long cots for draw frames and combing machines simultaneously—making it a fast, practical, and cost-effective solution.”

Kayar highlighted the benefits of the 401-SF&M’s automatic feeding system, which saves time and labor, and its auto rejection function, ensuring process standardization. He also praised Asteks for developing local and national technology that offers superior solutions compared to its counterparts, both in terms of cost and technology. The long-standing relationship with Asteks for rubber products such as aprons and cots has now expanded with the purchase of the 401-SF&M, which will meet the needs of their 24,000-spindle ring spinning facility, and eventually a total of 60,000 spindles once the second phase investment is operational.
