Barmag Showcases Sustainable DTY Solutions At Morocco Stitch & Tex Expo 2025

With a strong focus on sustainability, Barmag, a subsidiary of the Swiss Oerlikon Group, is set to present its latest innovations in DTY and carpet yarn production at the Morocco Stitch & Tex Expo in Casablanca from May 13 to 15. Visitors can engage with experts from Barmag and its joint venture, BB Engineering (BBE), at the Unionmatex booth (D4) to explore cutting-edge solutions from Oerlikon Barmag and Oerlikon Neumag.

Oerlikon Barmag’s DTY machine configurations offer a range of modular solutions for producing high-quality textured yarns from polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, PLA, and PTT. These machines, available in manual or automatic variants, ensure optimal operational expenditure (OPEX) costs while delivering yarns suited for high-performance downstream processing.

The company is also responding to the growing demand for fancy yarns, such as cotton-like, linen-like, and wool-like DTY. Oerlikon Barmag’s specialized processes and components allow manufacturers to achieve unique textile effects with high flexibility and precision.

For carpet yarn production, Oerlikon Barmag remains the only manufacturer globally to offer an integrated POY and texturing system designed specifically for the home textiles and carpet sector. This system enables the production of soft, bulky polyester threads with BCF-like properties, with yarn titers reaching up to 1300dtex and over 1000 filaments. The system includes the WINGS HD POY winder and the eAFK Big-V texturing machine for enhanced efficiency.

Oerlikon Neumag is further expanding its BCF yarn portfolio with its latest bicomponent (BICO-BCF) innovation, offering superior volume, texture, and reduced raw material consumption—meeting the evolving needs of the global carpet market.

BB Engineering’s VarioFil® compact spinning system provides versatile solutions for diverse applications, from fashion and upholstery to automotive textiles. This system supports a variety of polymers, including PET, PP, PA 6, PA 6.6, and PBT, making it ideal for specialized and small-batch production. The VarioFil® R+ variant further enhances sustainability by enabling the direct recycling of PET bottle flakes and textile waste into high-quality POY, including spun-dyed yarn production.

For air-textured yarns (ATY), the JeTex® system developed by BB Engineering complements Oerlikon Barmag’s DTY solutions, producing high-quality ATY based on POY and FDY. The system features an advanced texturing box that ensures gentle yarn processing with reliable efficiency.

In line with its sustainability commitment, BB Engineering’s VacuFil PET recycling system converts textile waste into premium rPET melt through advanced extrusion, filtration, and IV control technologies. The Visco+ module enhances the process by removing volatile contaminants and regulating intrinsic viscosity (IV) for consistent quality. This system supports multiple input materials, from bottle flakes to post-consumer waste, allowing for direct reintegration into spinning mills or pelletization for future use.

With its latest DTY and carpet yarn solutions, Barmag continues to drive sustainability and innovation in chemical fiber machinery, reinforcing its leadership in the global textile industry.
