Chhattisgarh Govt Partners With CMAI To Boost India’s Apparel Industry

In a major step to strengthen India’s garment and textile sector, the Government of Chhattisgarh has joined hands with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) as a partner state. This collaboration is set to leverage the state’s progressive textile policy to drive growth, attract investments and create employment opportunities in the apparel industry.
A CMAI delegation, led by President Santosh Katariya, along with General Secretary & FAB Show Chairman Naveen Sainani, Chief Mentor Rahul Mehta, and Senior Director Aanurag Dhoot, attended a roadshow hosted by the Chhattisgarh government in Mumbai.
Following the roadshow, the delegation engaged in a closed-door meeting with Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and senior policymakers. During the discussions, the proposal to associate the state with CMAI’s activities as a partner state was finalized, highlighting Chhattisgarh’s dedication to building a thriving ecosystem for textile and garment manufacturing.
Santosh Katariya, President of CMAI, emphasized that the Indian apparel industry can look to Chhattisgarh for future growth, acknowledging the state’s significant potential. He noted that CMAI and its members could play a pivotal role in generating employment, particularly for women workers in the state’s mega textile park.
This partnership is expected to create new industry opportunities and position Chhattisgarh as a key hub in India’s garment and textile sector.
On January 23, the Chhattisgarh government hosted an Investor Connect Meet in Mumbai, showcasing the state’s potential as an industrial and economic hub. The event attracted leading industrial groups and secured investment proposals exceeding Rs 6,000 crore.
