‘Color Service Is Continuously Evolving And Developing New Products With More Advanced Technologies’
Indian textile market is positioned and ready for an uninterrupted future growth as the country is benefiting from many government initiatives, digital transformation and eco-friendly manufacturing innovations, avers Victor Macovei in an exclusive interview with Textile Insights.
Color Service has been an industry leader in automated dosing and dispensing solutions for over two decades. Can you share some key milestones in the company’s journey that have defined its success in the textile industry?
Color Service success is basically built and driven by the ability to create new products that generate demand in the market. This approach reflects both short-term and long-term strategic achievements that has positioned us as market leader in our industry sector.
We are concentrating our focus only on topics like innovation and delivery of solutions that meet the needs of our customers and, over the years, we were able to establish very solid and trusted partnerships overseas. Having a very large global network is very useful not only for achieving a significant market share, but it also allows to improve customer management, receive diversified feedback and increase the development potential of our company.
I would like to explain this aspect with a concrete example: we recently introduced a modular fully automatic laboratory equipment for atmospheric and high temperature dyeing of natural, synthetic and mixed textile fibres called ”Color Dyeing”. This machine offers a perfect simulation of production dyeing cycle and positions itself on the market as the new bridge between laboratory and production. Achieving these milestones demonstrates our company’s ability to adapt and influence the textile industry globally.
Sustainability is increasingly important across industries. Could you tell us about Color Service’s approach to sustainability and how your solutions help reduce environmental impact?
In any textile processing company, if the activity of storage, weighing, preparation and delivery of chemicals is automated, then we can consider the wastage eliminated entirely. Color Service machines are specifically designed to perform these tasks which alone are a valid reason to justify our commitment to sustainability.
The use of our machines offers another big advantage: a serious reduction of water and energy consumption in the complete dyeing process.
As a company, we strongly believe that achieving the sustainability goals will allow man to continue living on earth and perhaps this the most important challenge of the next decades.
Automation is central to your offerings. What unique features set apart Color Service’s automated dosing and dispensing systems from competitors in the textile industry?
Our large family of products combined with high level of customization make any automatic kitchen installed by Color Service around the world unique and this why customers, once they gain experience with us, never switch to another supplier.
Being the first to introduce this type of product in the market and, therefore, with the longest experience, gives us the possibility to stay one step ahead of any other competitor and we can confidently say that any technical solution you find in the market was first developed in Color Service and then by others.
India is a significant market for Color Service. How has your partnership with A.T.E. enhanced your presence and service quality in India?
The Indian market is crucial to our company’s growth strategy and our partnership with A.T.E. has enabled us to expand our reach within the territory and improve customer support.
A.T.E. is a very solid partner as the company is present in the market for more than 80 years. They currently supply premium level machinery and, as also suggested by the name of the company, it is made up of proficient engineers: a team deeply structured in such a way that each member of the group has the possibility to specialize in his own subject of expertise.
In few words, ATE is a team of best specialized professionals with best experience and working with them every day is very satisfying for us.
Given India’s importance in the global textile industry, what growth potential do you foresee, and how are you positioning Color Service to capitalize on this opportunity?
Indian textile market is positioned and ready for an uninterrupted future growth as the country is benefiting from many government initiatives, digital transformation and eco-friendly manufacturing innovations. This evolution will align India with international market trends and customer preferences, and we should not underestimate the fact that the shift in global supply chains away from China is already providing India an opportunity to capture a larger market share.
The increasing global demand for sustainable textiles such as organic cotton, recycled fabrics and plant-based fabric creates opportunities for many machine manufacturers around the world including Color Service as our machines are essential for eliminating the waste of products used in the process and increase the RFT rate.
All these points, combined with the fact that incomes are growing and rural areas are being urbanized, increase the demand for quality textiles, all products that are directly linked with our solutions.
Looking to the future, what are Color Service’s priorities for innovation and expansion, both globally and in key markets like India?
Perhaps not everyone knows that Color Service is also present in other sectors besides textiles. Our company offers a range of automatic dosing systems for industries like rubber, tire, plastics, cosmetics and even food production. We use our experience to explore and enter new sectors as well, so the company is continuously evolving and developing new products with more advanced technologies day by day. We believe that this effort will expand our market share in the future in India and all around the world.
What major trends or challenges do you foresee in textile manufacturing, and how is Color Service preparing to address them through new technologies?
The effects of climate change such as unpredictable monsoons and droughts and geopolitical issues directly affect the availability of materials and natural fibres like cotton, which may cause supply chain disruption and volatility in costs.
For many years in the industry everybody is talking about the need for replacing the traditional manufacturing processes which are consuming large amounts of water, energy and chemicals. So we can observe that a lot of work has been done to create new standards and regulations to reduce the environmental impact. But adapting to stricter environmental regulations requires investments in sustainable technologies and many small and medium enterprises lack access to modern technology due to high costs.
Our machines are designed to be installed and also work in existing dyeing plants where the dosing process is still done by hand, and we offer our customers various packages starting from a partial automation solution to semi-automation and full automation.
This flexibility to adapt our machines with the possibility of expansion to small and medium-sized businesses has allowed many customers to take a step forward in terms of sustainability even with limited budgets without losing the quality of Made in Italy.
