Karl Mayer Secures Trademark Victory For PROWARP, PROSIZE And PRODYE

Karl Mayer has successfully defended its trademark rights for PROWARP, KARL MAYER PROSIZE and PRODYE after a prolonged legal battle in Turkey. The company, known for its high-performance textile machines, registered these trademarks for its sectional warping machine (2015), sizing machine (2012), and indigo dyeing unit (2018) to safeguard its innovative technology and market reputation.

The dispute arose when Turkish companies Proteknik Tekstil and Prosmh Makina were found to be infringing Karl Mayer’s trademarks. Despite a cease-and-desist letter, the infringement continued, prompting Karl Mayer to pursue legal action. On December 12, 2024, a regional court ruled in favour of Karl Mayer, banning the unauthorized use of these trademarks for manufacturing, sale, packaging and distribution of competing machines in Turkey and online.

Martin Fuhr, Head of Product Portfolio Management, Warp Preparation Business Unit at Karl Mayer, stated, “We invested significant resources and pursued legal action for nearly seven years to protect not only our proprietary technology but also our customers and reputation.”

Karl Mayer’s success stems from continuous innovation. Recent advancements in the PROSIZE include the Cascade system, which reduces steam consumption by up to 7%, and the Smart Size Box, which enhances predictive maintenance and reduces size add-on by up to 10%.

The PROWARP features proactive warping, a cloud-based system ensuring high reproducibility, superior warp quality and competitive advantages in weaving. Meanwhile, the PRODYE’s optimized dyeing vat enables deeper indigo tones with fewer boxes and reduces hydro and caustic soda consumption by up to 20%.

Karl Mayer’s legal victory reinforces its commitment to protecting industry-leading technology and maintaining its position as a global leader in warp preparation and dyeing solutions.
