Karl Mayer To Celebrate 90 Years Of Textile Innovation In 2027
Karl Mayer will mark its 90th anniversary in 2027 with a major event series at its headquarters in Obertshausen, near Frankfurt, Germany, bringing together customers, partners and textile industry experts from around the world.
The celebrations, scheduled for September 2027, will focus on technological innovation, new textile applications and future business opportunities across warp knitting, technical textiles and warp preparation.

“Our anniversary activities are about much more than individual machines or new features. They are about the next major technical breakthrough developments and true textile innovations,” said Lutz Wolf, CEO, Karl Mayer.
According to the company, the anniversary programme will highlight opportunities for customers to achieve stronger growth, access new markets, improve productivity and efficiency, and build more sustainable businesses.
The event will be hosted at Karl Mayer’s Textile Innovation Centre (TIC) and Product Innovation Centre (PIC) in Obertshausen. Spread across more than 5,000 square metres, the facilities will provide visitors with an opportunity to experience new technologies in live production environments and explore textile applications and business scenarios.
The programme will feature new machine generations addressing key challenges faced by the global textile industry, innovative solutions aimed at improving textile value creation and product quality, and future-oriented textile applications and fabric concepts.
The company will also facilitate expert discussions involving players across the textile value chain, from fibre manufacturers to brands. Karl Mayer specialists from its various textile categories, machine segments and technology fields will be available throughout the event week for technical discussions and customised consultations.
“We have a strong pipeline of innovations across all technology areas and are very much looking forward to sharing the results with our customers in 2027,” Wolf added.
As part of its anniversary strategy, Karl Mayer said it will focus its 2027 activities on the celebrations at its Obertshausen headquarters rather than exhibiting at ITMA in Hanover. Further details of the anniversary programme will be announced in the coming months.
Karl Mayer to Showcase New Developments in China
Before the anniversary celebrations, Karl Mayer will showcase new developments at ITMA ASIA 2026 in Shanghai. The company will occupy two exhibition booths: Hall 4.1/C18 for warp knitting and technical textiles, and Hall 3/A24 for Warp Preparation. A product show will also be held at Karl Mayer (China) in Changzhou.
