Kitex Garments Explores Investment In Andhra Pradesh

Kitex Garments, a global leader in the textile and apparel manufacturing sector, is exploring investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Handlooms and Textiles S Savitha announced. The company’s leadership is expected to meet with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu soon to discuss its plans in detail.
The announcement came during Savitha’s visit to Kitex Garments’ headquarters in Kochi, Kerala, where she toured the manufacturing facilities and interacted with employees. Speaking at a joint press conference with Kitex Chairman Sabu Jacob, she praised the company’s ethical business practices and employee-centric culture, describing Kitex as a model employer with over 15,000 staff and a global reputation.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s growing appeal as an investment destination under CM Naidu’s leadership, Savitha said Satya Sai district is being considered as a priority location for the proposed Kitex unit. Its strategic proximity to Bengaluru International Airport, Krishnapatnam Port, and well-connected rail infrastructure makes it an ideal hub for exports. She also identified Kurnool district as a potential source for high-quality cotton, essential for Kitex’s production.
Savitha expressed confidence that the state would offer a conducive environment for Kitex’s operations, noting the company’s recent Rs 3,600 crore investment in Telangana as a testament to its aggressive expansion strategy. She assured that the state government would extend all necessary support and facilitate a high-level meeting with the Chief Minister in the coming days.
During her visit, Savitha was accompanied by Kitex MD Sabu Jacob and senior management. She toured various departments, gaining first-hand insights into the company’s operations and sustainable manufacturing practices.
