Klassik Lamitex Showcases Artificial Leather Innovations At Heimtextil 2025

At Heimtextil 2025, Klassik Lamitex showcased its specialized artificial leather products, which are primarily used in industries like automotive upholstery, footwear, bags and home textiles. Naman Rungta, Marketing & Exports Manager at Klassik Lamitex, discussed the company’s focus on providing high-quality materials for upholstery applications, especially for manufacturers of sofas, chairs and furniture.
“We mostly make artificial leather by coating polyester fabric to achieve the feel of leather,” Rungta explained. “Our main target market is the automotive and upholstery industries, with home textiles being a smaller sub-segment.” Klassik Lamitex also caters to large European brands, using the exhibition as a platform to connect with manufacturers and suppliers from across Europe.
Rungta acknowledged the growing competition in the industry, particularly due to the shift towards online availability and direct supplier brands from Europe and Turkey. “Over the years, the momentum has gone down, and now there is more competition in the market, as many suppliers directly serve brands under their own name,” he noted.
When asked about the sustainability of artificial leather in the home textile sector, Rungta was candid. “Artificial leather, particularly PVC, is not the most sustainable option,” he said. “While we do offer sustainable variants, the costs are significantly higher. For example, we can use recycled PVC resin, which is about 67% recyclable, and organic colours. However, these sustainable products come with a high price tag, and customers aren’t always willing to pay that premium.”
The response at Heimtextil 2025 has been positive, especially from European customers and those from the U.S. “The show was good, with many customers already supplying products visiting us throughout the exhibition,” Rungta said. “We received a strong response over the course of the event.”
