PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Textile Exhibition Bharat Tex 2024
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, flanked by Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Darshana Jardosh inaugurated Bharat Tex 2024, touted as India’s biggest textile fair at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Bharat Tex will not only display India’s rich textile heritage but also positions India as a modern global textile powerhouse.
Currently, the industry is facing both opportunities and significant challenges and so Bharat Tex is expected to boost the prospects of the textile and apparel industry.
PM Narendra Modi ahead of the inauguration said the exhibition will showcase India’s vibrant textile heritage and innovation in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
“Together, let us weave a brighter future for trade, investment and exports in the important textiles sector,” the PM added.
The event that will run for four days embodies the 5F vision of the Prime Minister, focusing on the entire textiles value chain from farm to foreign markets.
Organised by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Textiles Ministry, the emphasis is on trade, investment, and sustainability.
Bharat Tex 2024 is one of the largest-ever global textile events to be organised in India and will showcase India’s prowess in the textile sector.
