ShinWon Celebrates Women Empowerment on International Women’s Day

ShinWon Corporation, a leading global apparel manufacturer, is receiving increased recognition on International Women’s Day for its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and empowering women’s career growth.
With the belief that “Human resources are a company’s most valuable asset,” ShinWon actively supports workplace improvements and career development. At its South Korea headquarters, women make up 58% of the workforce, with 21% in leadership roles. The company’s strong maternity support system ensures a 92% return-to-work rate post-maternity leave. Additional initiatives include women’s lounges, nursing rooms, infant CPR training and daycare subsidies to support working parents.
Globally, 81% of ShinWon’s overseas workforce consists of women, far exceeding global labour force participation rates. In Vietnam, Indonesia, and Guatemala, where the female workforce averages between 39% and 48%, 75% of ShinWon’s managerial roles are held by women. The company also collaborates with RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality), offering programmes such as the Digital Training Program in Guatemala, training 100 employees per month since November 2024.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, ShinWon organized special events across its global offices. In South Korea, employees received bread and beverages, symbolizing “Bread and Roses,” alongside a special lecture on “How to Work as Top AI Talent.” Overseas subsidiaries hosted celebrations, including special meals in Vietnam and Nicaragua, performances in Indonesia, and commemorative gifts in Guatemala.
“We recognize the invaluable contributions of our female employees and remain committed to building a workplace that fosters career growth,” said JJ Park, CEO of ShinWon. “We will continue investing in programmes that empower our employees to thrive.”
With 13 subsidiaries across Guatemala, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the United States, ShinWon employs 30,000 people in its production facilities. As a global apparel leader, the company remains dedicated to workforce welfare, education and gender equity.
