T.T. Brand Joins Elite List Of Well-Known Trademarks In India

In a landmark recognition of its legacy and impact, T.T. Brand, one of India’s oldest and most widely distributed innerwear and clothing brands, has been officially accorded “Well-Known Trademark” status by the Indian Trade Marks Registry. The announcement was made in the Trade Mark Journal dated April 14, 2025.

T.T. now joins an exclusive club of just 334 brands in India recognised as “well-known trademarks” under Section 11 read with Section 2(z)(g) of the Trade Marks Act, 1999—standing alongside globally and nationally acclaimed names like Starbucks, Economic Times, Matrix, and NDTV.

Established in 1964, T.T. has built a robust presence across India and international markets, exporting to over 60 countries across five continents. Its recognition is a reflection of decades of brand trust, market leadership, and deep consumer recall.

The well-known trademark status provides broader legal protection beyond its registered classes, safeguarding the brand from misuse even in unrelated industries and reinforcing its reputation under international frameworks like the Paris Convention and TRIPS Agreement.

The recognition follows the brand’s recent marketing push, including the appointment of Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao as brand ambassador. T.T. products are now available through leading e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra), major retail chains (Reliance, VMart, Vishal), institutional buyers (CSD, CRPF, BSF), and a vast network of over 30,000 outlets nationwide.
