Italy’s Oniverse Plans Two Garment Factories In Egypt, Targets Global Exports

General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) held discussions with Italian apparel company Oniverse regarding plans to establish two ready-made garment factories in Egypt as part of the company’s broader expansion strategy.
The meeting, led by Mohamed Awad, focused on accelerating project implementation, investment incentives and the potential eligibility of the projects for Egypt’s Golden License system, which provides unified approvals for strategic investments.
According to GAFI, the proposed investment aims to strengthen Egypt’s textile and apparel manufacturing sector while supporting export-oriented industrial growth and local value chain development.
Awad said the authority is committed to providing technical and procedural support to facilitate the swift implementation of the projects in line with the strategy of Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to attract foreign investment and improve the business environment.
Francesco Rofolo stated that the company plans to establish a fully integrated production chain in Egypt, covering operations from yarn manufacturing to finished garments.
He added that the entire production output will be exported through Oniverse’s international retail network of around 5,500 stores across 59 countries.
Production at the proposed facilities is expected to begin by the end of 2027 and is projected to create more than 3,000 direct jobs in the Egyptian market.
