ITMF Announces Winners Of Sustainability & Innovation Awards 2026
The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has announced the three winners of the ITMF Sustainability & Innovation Awards 2026, recognising innovative projects aimed at advancing sustainability, circularity and environmental performance in the textile industry.
The winners will present their projects at the upcoming ITMF & IAF Conference 2026, scheduled to be held on October 14–15, 2026, in Fortaleza, Brazil. The conference will be co-hosted by ABIT (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association).
The ITMF Sustainability & Innovation Awards recognise sustainable and innovative achievements across the textile industry, with a focus on innovation, design, development and production aligned with stringent sustainability standards and environmental responsibility.
The three winners, listed alphabetically, are:
Epoch Biodesign, UK
Project: Scaling AI-Driven Enzymatic Depolymerization to Turn Textile Waste into Fibre-Grade Nylon 6,6
The project focuses on using artificial intelligence and enzymatic processes to scale the depolymerisation of textile waste and convert it into fibre-grade nylon 6,6, supporting greater circularity in synthetic textiles.
Huvis, Korea
Project: Polyester Chemical Recycling Technology for Sustainable Automotive Textiles
Huvis has been recognised for its chemical recycling technology aimed at recovering polyester for use in automotive textile applications, contributing to the development of more sustainable material solutions for the automotive sector.
Simabo Technology Co., Ltd and Wuhan Textile University, China
Project: Desert-Mulberry – Bioactive Silk Eco-Regenerative Cycle
The project combines silk production with an eco-regenerative approach based on desert mulberry, exploring the potential of bioactive silk and a sustainable production cycle.
The ITMF Sustainability & Innovation Awards highlight the growing emphasis on technological innovation and circular production models across the global textile value chain. The winning projects will be presented to the international textile and apparel industry during the Fortaleza conference.
