KARL MAYER Launches High-Speed RS 2 Net Machine

KARL MAYER has introduced the RS 2 Net, a new Raschel machine designed for high-speed production of shade nets and technical net fabrics. The company claims the machine is currently the fastest net machine on the market, capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,200 stitches per minute depending on pattern configuration and raw material.

According to KARL MAYER, the RS 2 Net can achieve production output of around 165 metres per hour while manufacturing standard shade net constructions with a mesh density of 3.5 meshes/cm at 80 per cent efficiency. The machine has been developed to deliver higher productivity along with improved reliability, precision and low maintenance requirements.

The RS 2 Net is based on KARL MAYER’s established high-performance Raschel machine platform and is engineered for processing polyethylene tapes. The machine can be equipped with the company’s FTL aggregate for efficient tape feeding.

Key features include two stitch-forming guide bars, gauge E 6 with multiple threading options, a 264-inch working width, and a double take-up system for folding device processing.

Beyond shade nets, the machine is also designed for producing insect protection nets, bird and wind protection nets, and fence panel solutions through a wide range of pattern and stitch density configurations.

The RS 2 Net is currently installed at the newly inaugurated TEXTILE INNOVATION CENTER of KARL MAYER, launched in April 2026. The facility allows customers, fibre manufacturers and industry partners to conduct trials, innovation projects and product development activities using the new machine with technical support from KARL MAYER experts.
