Lenzing AG Appoints Georg Kasperkovitz As Chief Executive Officer

Lenzing AG has appointed Georg Kasperkovitz as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective June 1, 2026. His mandate will run until May 31, 2029.
Kasperkovitz, who has served as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Member of the Management Board since June 2025, will assume the CEO role in addition to his current responsibilities.
In his role as COO, Kasperkovitz has led the company’s Fiber Division, overseeing sales, production and supply chain operations, while driving the execution of Lenzing’s performance programme. Under his leadership, the company has achieved measurable progress in operational excellence and improved profitability across its fibre production sites.
As CEO, he will take on additional global responsibility for fibre sales, supply chain and human resources, while continuing to oversee the company’s fibre production operations.
Supervisory Board Highlights Continuity and Performance
Patrick Lackenbucher, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG, said the appointment followed an extensive evaluation of both internal and external candidates.
“The Supervisory Board has intensively addressed the appointment of the CEO position over the past months. It became clear that the current Management Board works very effectively together and that Georg Kasperkovitz has managed his areas of responsibility extremely successfully,” he said.
“He has delivered measurable progress in operational performance and profitability. His appointment as CEO is therefore a logical step that ensures stability and strong execution, particularly in challenging market environments.”
Lackenbucher added that the Management Board will continue focusing on structural profitability and strengthening competitiveness to further expand Lenzing’s position as a leading integrated premium supplier of regenerated cellulose fibres.
Focus on Transformation and Sustainable Growth
Commenting on his appointment, Georg Kasperkovitz said he was honoured by the trust placed in him by the Supervisory Board.
“A clearly prioritised strategy focused on premium products, the consistent execution of our performance programme and a strong leadership team will remain key drivers of Lenzing’s transformation,” he said.
He outlined the company’s focus on sustainable growth in high-margin market segments, including nonwovens applications in hygiene and filtration, while advancing next-generation technologies such as Tree-to-Textile.
“At the same time, we will continue implementing measures to strengthen our cost position and global competitiveness, with the goal of unlocking Lenzing’s full value-creation potential,” he added.
Management Board Structure Unchanged
Lenzing confirmed that the composition of its Management Board will remain unchanged, consisting of Georg Kasperkovitz as CEO, Mathias Breuer as CFO, and Christian Skilich as CPO/CTO.
The company’s extended Executive Committee, comprising six members, will also remain unchanged.
