Reju Partners With Cibutex To Build A Circular Textile Ecosystem

Reju, a textile-to-textile regeneration company, has partnered with Cibutex, a cooperative focused on sustainable textile supply chains, to establish a circular ecosystem among Cibutex member companies.

Through this collaboration, Reju will receive secondary raw materials derived from post-consumer textile waste for recycling into regenerated Reju Polyester, which has a 50% lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester and can be infinitely regenerated. Materials from Cibutex’s member companies will be processed at Reju’s Regeneration Hub Zero in Frankfurt, Germany, set to be fully operational in 2025, and at future regeneration hubs.

Cibutex specializes in collecting and processing post-use business textiles, ensuring they are reintegrated into the production cycle. By leveraging Reju’s proprietary regeneration technology, the partnership enhances traceability and scalability, key components of a sustainable textile supply chain.

“Reju and Cibutex are joining forces to create a circular ecosystem for business textiles,” said Patrik Frisk, CEO of Reju. “Together, we are building an infrastructure that keeps valuable resources out of landfills and incineration, while reducing the industry’s carbon footprint.”

Jan Lamme, CEO of Cibutex, emphasized the partnership’s significance: “Our cooperative was founded to foster a circular textile economy. Partnering with Reju strengthens our ability to bring post-use business textiles back into the production cycle with traceability and quality at the core.”

With the European Union’s textile waste collection mandate taking effect this year and pending regulations in the U.S., this initiative comes at a critical time, offering scalable solutions to meet regulatory demands and advance sustainability in the textile industry.
