SCZONE Signs US$ 8.8 Million Denim Rise Garment Project In Qantara West

The Suez Canal Economic Zone has signed an agreement with Turkish firm Denim Rise to establish a ready-made garments manufacturing unit in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, marking another step in strengthening textile investments in the region.

The project, with an investment of US$ 8.8 million, will be developed over 26,000 square metres and is expected to generate around 1,000 direct jobs. Notably, 70 percent of its production will be export-oriented, reinforcing Egypt’s position in global apparel supply chains.

The agreement was signed at SCZONE headquarters by Waleid Gamal El-Dien and Huseyin Güzel. Highlighting the strategic importance of the location, Gamal El-Dien noted that Qantara West’s proximity to both the Suez Canal and Delta governorates, along with access to ports on the Red Sea and Mediterranean, makes it an attractive hub for labour-intensive industries and export-driven manufacturing.

He further emphasised that the Denim Rise project marks the fourth Turkish investment in Qantara West, reflecting deepening economic ties between Egypt and Türkiye. The zone is being developed as an integrated textile hub, with planned facilities spanning garment accessories, textile printing and dyeing, and luggage manufacturing to enhance value addition and industrial integration.

Güzel described the project as a gateway for Denim Rise’s international expansion, adding that construction will commence soon, with operations targeted to begin in the second half of 2025.

With this agreement, SCZONE has now secured nine projects in the first phase of Qantara West, representing total investments of US$ 317.8 million across 777,000 square metres and expected to generate over 15,000 jobs, highlighting the zone’s growing appeal as a global textile and apparel manufacturing destination.
