Textiles Committee & NJB Sign MoU To Extend JMI Scheme For Three Years

The Textiles Committee and the National Jute Board (NJB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to extend the implementation of the Jute Mark India (JMI) Scheme for another three years.
The MoU was signed by Shashibhushan Singh, Secretary, National Jute Board, and Kartikay Dhanda, Secretary, Textiles Committee, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
The renewed partnership aims to expand the reach of the Jute Mark India Scheme by increasing registrations and promoting wider adoption of the JMI label across the jute value chain. The extension will also strengthen awareness of the scheme’s benefits among manufacturers, exporters and other stakeholders.
As part of the expanded initiative, the organisations also plan to incorporate the carbon credit theme into the Jute Mark India label, highlighting the environmental credentials of jute products and reinforcing the fibre’s role in promoting sustainability and the circular economy.
