Sourcery Expands Provisional Partnership Programme To Transform Cotton Trade

Sourcery announces the expansion of its Provisional Partnership Programme, extending invitations to ten denim mills, manufacturers, and verticals from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Turkey, and Italy. This initiative, successful in India and Pakistan, offers Provisional Direct-to-Grower™ Manufacturer Partners the opportunity to engage in a “test-drive” of Sourcery’s Direct-to-Grower approach.

Provisional Partners can purchase cotton fiber directly from growers and sell denim yarn and fabric to other Direct-to-Grower™ Partners without upfront membership fees. Additionally, they’ll be among the first mills eligible for Sourcery’s forthcoming stock option subscription programme, empowering the sector to take ownership and lead the future of global trade as a cooperative committed to positive transformation.

The Provisional Partnership Programme aims to boost demand downstream in the cotton value chain. Building on its success in India and Pakistan, Sourcery has pre-qualified several spinning mills, manufacturers, and verticals to join as Provisional Partners. Leading spinning mills like Shivatex, Armstrong India, Unitech Spinner, Nahar Spinning, Ken Enterprises, Ramco Group, and GTN Textiles have already joined, with more in the application and onboarding process.

Despite lower than usual fiber demand, Provisional Partners remain dedicated to sourcing from Sourcery Grower Partners due to enhanced transparency, traceability, and trust within the Sourcery Partner network.

Provisional Partners gain immediate access to Sourcery’s suite of Direct-to-Grower Solutions, facilitating transparent, fair, and efficient procurement and sales processes. Sourcery does not charge commission fees on fiber, yarn, or fabric transactions, offering potential cost savings compared to traditional approaches and enabling investment in commercial and environmental excellence.

Together, Partners collaborate to offer products with quality, integrity, traceability, and verified impact at the farm level, meeting the compliance requirements of international trade and legislation on sustainability.

Crispin Argento, Global Managing Director of Sourcery, emphasizes the denim industry’s proactive approach to innovation and sustainability. Inviting the denim community to take ownership in Sourcery aligns with the company’s mission to redefine the “impact paradigm” and foster collaboration across the cotton supply chain.
