Jaypore Brings Ajrakh And Kalamkari Together In New Collection
Jaypore, the artisanal lifestyle brand from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, has unveiled A Tale of Two Crafts, a collection bringing together the traditional artistry of Ajrakh and Kalamkari in contemporary apparel.
The collection features hand-block prints, nature-inspired motifs and earthy colours on breathable fabrics, including pure cotton and cambric. Inspired by starry skies and the natural world, it combines Ajrakh’s geometric patterns with Kalamkari motifs drawn from flora and fauna.
Designed for everyday wear, the range includes relaxed kurtas, tunics, dresses and coordinated sets, complemented by pants and dupattas.
“At Jaypore, we believe that craft is a living expression of the stories, traditions and communities that shape it,” said Vandana Gupta, Creative Head, Jaypore. She added that the collection celebrates Ajrakh and Kalamkari while bringing the crafts into contemporary wardrobes through easy silhouettes and handcrafted prints.
With the collection, Jaypore aims to give traditional Indian textile techniques a place in modern dressing while highlighting the individuality of handmade textiles.
